Spy X Family Season 3 was officially announced during the anime Extra Mision event on Sunday, June 9, 2024.
Spy X Family features one of the most unique and adorable anime families. We can say that’s one of the primary reasons for the franchise’s success. Tatsuya Endo’s creation began serialization in Shonen Jump in March 2019, and the first season of the anime adaptation premiered in 2022. It’s worth saying that the sale of the manga skyrocketed after the anime grabbed the attention of the anime community. The second season was released in 2023 and managed to get the same amount of love.
As fans eagerly awaited the official announcement of Season 3, the creators surprised them with a different but equally exciting development. They decided to greenlight the first movie of the franchise, which hit Japanese theatres in December 2023. This unexpected move not only kept the fans engaged but also built anticipation for the upcoming season. And now, after a prolonged wait, the creators have finally made the most anticipated announcement-the third season of Spy X Family is already in the production stage.
Besides the amazing news, we were also given a chance to see Anya and Bond in the brand-new key visual. In a room full of mess, the adorable Anya is sleeping, keeping her head on Bond, who is also seen lying there with closed eyes. We could also see someone standing outside the room.
However, nothing more than that has been revealed yet. So, we have to wait a little longer for the confirmed release date/window announcement. Taking the release pattern of the previous seasons into account, it would be safe to assume that either the third season will arrive later in 2024 or early-mid 2025. Also, that being said, the franchise has captured a huge fanfare over the years, so for the time being, the artwork and the official announcement have overwhelmed them.
