The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives, a reality show fresh off the #MomTok, is bagging all the attention for its scandalous premise. If you have somehow managed to miss it while it stormed the web, then allow me to introduce it to you. It is a reality TV show fresh off the Mormon side of TikTok that made everyone discuss Trad Wife and their secrets.

The premise of its first season was to capture the behind-the-scenes of their articulate lives that we come across on picture-perfect TikTok feeds. However, the Hulu series unraveled much more than just the dirty laundry of eight influencers, and of everything, it included a soft-swinging lifestyle.

The Swinging Scandal of #MomTok Explained

The first season of The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives opens right after the soft-swinging scandal of Taylor Frankie Paul went viral in 2022. She had disclosed that she was getting separated from her husband after their “soft swinging” agreement led to matrimonial disagreements.

The reason this became a ground-shaking revelation was because Mormonism emphasizes strict adherence to traditional family values and moral codes, which don’t align with swapping partners.

This scandal made people suspicious of the wives featured in the series, who all denied participating in anything that was against monogamy. They also subtly clarified that the cast doesn’t include swinging Mormons. The eight-episode series follows each of the influencers as they deal with the scandal over the course of two years, opening with Taylor, now dating Dakota Mortenson, trying to reconnect with everyone.

More Scandals Featured on The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives

Many other #MomTok wives featured on the show went viral for scandalous reasons, one of which is Whitney Leavitt. She finds out that her husband, Connor Leavitt, is secretly on Tinder throughout their marriage. He admitted to texting and sharing images with other women but firmly denied meeting anyone. He also revealed that he suffers from a porn addiction, which altogether led them to leave Utah for Hawaii until things settled down.

Demi Engemann revealed being present at some of the swinging parties without being aware of what was going on. While her husband, Brett Engemann, who is 17 years older than her, shared that he caught a certain vibe from others.

On the other hand, the cast members Jessi Ngatikura and Jen Affleck revealed having made choices that didn’t align with Mormonism, such as divorce, drinking, and engaging in intimacy before marriage. However, all of them, including Mikayla Matthews and Mayci Neeley, denied being part of the swinging scandal.

Hulu hasn’t confirmed if they will be renewing the show for a new season, but one cannot scratch the possibility just yet. The first season of The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives not only ended on a cliffhanger but also became the most-watched series on the platform upon its release.

The only question that remains is whether the cast members will return, as Whitney fell out with others by the season’s end, and Jen moved to New York City for her husband’s education. A likely scenario would be the introduction of new members that shall take the friendship, gossip, and lives of the group in new directions.

Until we get any nod about that, you can catch up with the lives of the #MomTok wives on Hulu and Disney+.
