The American rapper Ice Spice is not having a Euphoric time this year, as she has lost over 540k followers on Instagram in a fortnight. This comes in light of her blowouts with Cleotrapa and Baby Storme and accusations of copyright infringement for “In Ha Mood.”

A lot is happening in the Barbie World of the New York-based artist who has made a name for herself in the hip-hop community. She is also currently on her Y2K tour, featuring a setlist of all of her biggest hits, which is suffering the scrutiny of fans and critics for the recent controversies.

Let us take a closer look at the ongoing issues to better understand what exactly has placed the orange-haired rapper On The Radar of netizens’ criticism and has affected her fan following on social media platforms.

What Are Cleotrapa’s Accusations Against Ice Spice?

Cleotrapa posted a five-part series of videos on TikTok alleging that Ice Spice mistreated her and a friend on the Y2K world tour. She shared that they were invited to join at the last minute and weren’t given more than a day to pack, only for the TTYL singer to stop her team from assisting them even with simple tasks such as carrying a suitcase.

The singer further alleges that she didn’t receive adequate compensation, had to manage her hotel rooms and supper on her own budget, and sometimes wasn’t even allocated a green room to change.

These videos quickly went viral across the fan communities, who criticized the mismanagement and ‘mean girl’ behavior of the artist. This led to her coming forward with her side of the story. She said that she has noticed a pattern that whenever people feel that they can’t use your platform for their benefits, they crash out, and that’s what Cleotrapa is doing.

She went ahead to directly criticize Cleo, saying, “You [have] got less than 10,000 listeners, and I am sharing my stage with you, and you [are] feeling so entitled,” further saying that her staff isn’t supposed to work for others and she was just trying to help.

Baby Storme Exposes Spice After Falling Out of Friendship

Earlier this year, Baby Storme exposed the “BB Belt” singer after their friendship dissipated. She shared that she was asked to sign an NDA, but she is only signed to God, and thus, she is revealing all these things. Following this, she posted a bunch of screenshots showing Spice making ill remarks about Nicki Minaj and Cleotrapa and exhibiting racist and fatphobic behavior.

At the time, this expose received a mixed bag of reactions from the netizens, but it has found new interest in light of Cleo’s accusations. To which Storme reacted, saying that she had attempted to warn her but only received threats. Cleo responded, clearing the air that she didn’t feel like Storme had any respect for her at that time, but she was grateful.

Ice Spice’s Professional Controversies

Apart from having fallouts with friends, the “Did It First” singer is also being accused of poor behavior on a professional front. Earlier in the year, she was accused of plagiarizing her popular hit “In Ha Mood” by an artist named D.Chamberz, who claimed that he released a track titled “In That Mood” in January 2022 on DSPs.

TMZ reported the complete issue, including the findings of a copyright infringement lawsuit where D.Chamberz suspected that the singer must have heard the songs in clubs and on radio stations. Ice Spice’s attorneys denied all of the claims and promised to defend till complete vindication.

On top of that, the 24-year-old singer was accused of not paying for her custom-made wigs from The Bella Brand for the Y2K world tour. The company’s owner, Gia, has previously worked with the artist and was ready to provide two dozen wigs but she never received payment. Eventually, the order was canceled just a day ahead of the delivery, and she hadn’t even received her promised service fee.

All of these controversies have led to a negative impact on the fan following of Ice Spice. These accusations are especially being taken seriously as they come from people who have been close to the singer. Therefore, they aren’t going to fade away anytime soon, but their impact on her ongoing world tour remains to be seen.
