Satoru Gojo from “Jujutsu Kaisen” and Monkey D. Luffy from “One Piece” are two of the most popular characters in the anime community. What do you think will happen if these two titans ever clash? Wouldn’t it be a fantastic anime fight that would shock the whole anime community? Let’s delve deep into the details of their powers and techniques, compare them, and try to find who would come on top.
Satoru Gojo: Powers and Techniques
Clearly, Gojo is one of the most powerful sorcerers in “Jujutsu Kaisen.” He has many feats under his belt, such as fighting and even cornering Sukuna, the King of Curses. Gojo’s techniques are not only immensely powerful but also diverse and versatile.
Limitless
Gojo’s most iconic ability is limitless, which allows him to control space at an atomic level. It’s an ancestral ability passed down in Gojo’s family.
- Infinity: It’s a defensive ability that slows down any incoming attack to a halt unless Gojo himself allows it. Infinity makes it impossible for anyone to harm Gojo.
- Blue: Gojo can create a literal black hole using Blue. This technique is as destructive as it is versatile; Gojo could simply use a nerfed version of Blue to attract his opponents to a specific point. This will make escape a pipe dream for his enemies.
- Red: Red does just the opposite of what Blue does. Red creates a repulsive force that can push anything and everything away from Gojo. While using Red, it will be quite difficult for anyone to harm Gojo.
- Hollow Purple: Gojo created Hollow Purple by combining blue and red. It is a very destructive power that uses the combination of two opposite forces: attraction and repulsion. Hollow Purple can completely erase everything in its path by creating a singularity.
Six Eyes
Six Eyes is another one of the Gojo family’s ancestral techniques that has been passed down from generation to generation. This ability allows its user’s brain to work at lightning speed, enhancing perception and awareness. This ability makes it impossible for anyone to catch Gojo off guard.
Domain Expansion: Unlimited Void
Gojo’s Domain Expansion, Unlimited Void, is one of the strongest domains in the JJK universe. Gojo traps his enemies in a space where he bombards them with endless information. The sheer amount of information paralyzes his opponents, making them an easy target for Gojo.
Monkey D. Luffy: Powers and Techniques
Monkey D. Luffy is the main protagonist of Eiichiro Oda’s ‘One Piece.’ With his pirate crew, the Straw Hat Pirates, Luffy is on a journey to become the Pirate King.
Devil Fruit
It was thought that Luffy had eaten Gomu Gomu No Mi fruit, paramecia type, which turned him into a rubber man. Still, in the latest Wano Arc, it was revealed that Luffy’s devil fruit is not Gomu Gomu No Mi but its Hito Hito No Mi, Model: Nika, a mythical zoan type. Not much is known about the new powers of the Hito Hito No Mi fruit, but we know that Luffy is still a rubber man, the ability that lets him stretch, compress, and rebound, making him highly unpredictable in combat. His elasticity makes him invulnerable to physical blows.
- Gear Second: Luffy achieves superhuman strength and speed by accelerating his blood flow through his body. This allows him to strike his opponents with increased strength, but this technique is equally dangerous for the user. The series has shown that after using Gear Second, Luffy enters a weakened phase.
- Gear Third: Luffy bites his thumb and fills the air in his bones, inflating his limbs to a size that matches giants. It is a powerful technique with high destruction capabilities, but Luffy must sacrifice speed for raw power.
- Gear Fourth: Gear Fourth has many varieties, like Tankman, Tankman-Stuffed Version, and Snakeman, which Luffy used to battle Katakuri during the Whole Cake Arc. The fourth Gear combines Luffy’s flexibility with advanced Armament Haki, which grants him high defense.
- Gear Fifth: Gear Fifth is the latest addition to Luffy’s arsenal of powerful techniques, which he gained after his Devil Fruit awakening. Luffy’s fifth Gear lets him transform into Sun God Nika; he becomes a god. Luffy has gained a ridiculous power that allows him to manipulate his environment, a broken ability to have. His defense, offense, and speed have all increased to absurd levels.
Haki
Besides the mysterious Devil Fruits, One Piece has another mystical power known as Haki. Haki allows the user to harness their spiritual powers. There are three kinds of Haki.
- Armament Haki: This ability allows the user to coat his body with Haki, or spiritual power, gaining high defense that cannot be easily penetrated. Armament Haki can also be used for offense. Advanced Armament Haki allows one to emit the energy outward, enabling him to damage opponents internally.
- Observation Haki: This ability enhances perception and senses to an extreme level, allowing one to look into the future for a few seconds. Luffy was able to pull this feat while battling Katakuri.
- Conqueror’s Haki: The Haki of the Supreme King allows the user to exert his willpower on others. It can also easily knock out people with weak will and can even intimidate more vigorous opponents.
Comparing Satoru Gojo and Monkey D. Luffy
If we compare both characters’ defensive abilities, Gojo easily beats Luffy with his Limitless. Even though Luffy has a rubber body and Armament Haki, these abilities don’t make Luffy utterly invulnerable to attacks, and Gojo’s Blue and Hollow Purple can hurt Luffy. But Luffy also has Observation Haki, which allows Luffy to avoid Gojo’s attacks. But in terms of defense, Gojo easily beats Luffy.
If we compare their offensive powers, Gojo, with his Blue, Red, and Hollow Purple, can severely hurt Luffy until his fourth Gear, but Luffy’s fifth Gear changes many things. The power to manipulate his body and the environment around him can be a great counter against Gojo’s ability to control space. But not much can be said about Gear fifth, so we can’t say who will come on top. And Gojo’s Domain will not be able to do much to Luffy since he can just switch off his brain as he did against Enel in Skypiea.
They have a similar level of speed and spatial awareness; Gojo, with his Six Eyes, and Luffy, with his advanced Observation Haki can easily counter most of the attacks. However, Gojo has more experience and combat awareness, while Luffy lacks experience in this department. Luffy’s Conqueror’s Haki will not be able to do much since we know that Gojo’s willpower is very high.
Considering all their abilities, it can be said that Gojo has a higher chance of beating Luffy in a one-on-one fight. His higher defense, high combat awareness, and experience, in addition to his otherworldly techniques, will be able to overpower Luffy. But that is because we know little about Luffy’s Fifth Gear and Conqueror’s Haki. I believe that Conqueror’s Haki has much more potential than we know. Even though Luffy has shown amazing feats, he can still not be called the top dog in the One Piece universe, whereas Gojo is definitely at the top in the JJK universe. So, for now, in a battle between Satoru Gojo and Monkey D. Luffy, Gojo would most likely be the victor.
